帝曰：主歲何如？歧伯曰：氣有餘，則制己所勝，而侮所不勝。其不及，則己所不勝侮而乘之，己所勝輕而侮之，侮反受邪。侮而受邪，寡於畏也。
帝曰：主岁何如？歧伯曰：气有余，则制己所胜，而侮所不胜。其不及，则己所不胜侮而乘之，己所胜轻而侮之，侮反受邪。侮而受邪，寡于畏也。
Dì yuē: zhǔ suì hé rú? Qí bó yuē: qì yǒu yú, zé zhì jǐ suǒ shèng, ér wǔ suǒ bù shèng. Qí bù jí, zé jǐ suǒ bù shèng wǔ ér chéng zhī, jǐ suǒ shèng qīng ér wǔ zhī, wǔ fǎn shòu xié. Wǔ ér shòu xié, guǎ yú wèi yě.
Huang Di said: how is it with the qi that governs the year? Qi Bo said: when the qi is in excess it restrains what it overcomes and insults what it does not overcome. When it is deficient, what it does not overcome insults and encroaches upon it, and what it does overcome treats it lightly and insults it. The insulter in turn receives evil; that he receives evil is because he has too little of awe.

歧伯曰：司氣以熱，用熱無犯；司氣以寒，用寒無犯；司氣以涼，用涼無犯；司氣以温，用温無犯。閒氣同其主無犯，異其主則小犯之，是謂四畏，必謹察之。帝曰：善。其犯者何如？歧伯曰：天氣反時，則可依則及，勝其主，則可犯，以平爲期，而不可過，是謂邪氣反勝者。故曰：無失天信，無逆氣宜，無翼其勝，無贊其復，是謂至治。帝曰：善。五運氣行，主歲之紀，其有常數乎？

Qí bó yuē: sī qì yǐ rè, yòng rè wú fàn; sī qì yǐ hán, yòng hán wú fàn; sī qì yǐ liáng, yòng liáng wú fàn; sī qì yǐ wēn, yòng wēn wú fàn. Jiān qì tóng qí zhǔ wú fàn, yì qí zhǔ zé xiǎo fàn zhī, shì wèi sì wèi, bì jǐn chá zhī. Dì yuē: shàn. Qí fàn zhě hé rú? Qí bó yuē: tiān qì fǎn shí, zé kě yī zé jí, shèng qí zhǔ, zé kě fàn, yǐ píng wéi qī, ér bù kě guò, shì wèi xié qì fǎn shèng zhě. Gù yuē: wú shī tiān xìn, wú nì qì yí, wú yì qí shèng, wú zàn qí fù, shì wèi zhì zhì. Dì yuē: shàn. Wǔ yùn qì xíng, zhǔ suì zhī jì, qí yǒu cháng shù hū?
Qi Bo said: when the presiding qi is heat, using heat does not offend; when the presiding qi is cold, using cold does not offend; when it is cool, using cool does not offend; when it is warm, using warm does not offend. Where the interval qi is the same as its governor it does not offend; where different from its governor one may offend slightly — this is called the four awes, and one must examine them carefully. Huang Di said: good. And what of one who does offend? Qi Bo said: when the qi of heaven goes against the season, one may offend according to the rule; when it prevails over its governor, one may offend, taking levelness as the mark and not going beyond — this is what is called evil qi prevailing in reverse. Therefore it is said: do not lose the trust of heaven, do not oppose what suits the qi, do not give wing to its prevalence, do not aid its revenge — this is called the highest governance. Huang Di said: good. As to the movement of the qi of the five circuits and the record of what governs the year, is there a constant number?
**「主歲」本篇1見，止在此句**；**此段「五運氣行，主歲之紀，其有常數乎」，問六十年主歲之紀**
帝曰：地化柰何？歧伯曰：司天同𠉀，間氣皆然。帝曰：間氣何謂？歧伯曰：司左右者，是謂間氣也。帝曰：何以異之？歧伯曰：主歲者紀歲，間氣者紀步也。帝曰：善。歲主柰何？
帝曰：地化奈何？歧伯曰：司天同候，间气皆然。帝曰：间气何谓？歧伯曰：司左右者，是谓间气也。帝曰：何以异之？歧伯曰：主岁者纪岁，间气者纪步也。帝曰：善。岁主奈何？
Dì yuē: dì huà nài hé? Qí bó yuē: sī tiān tóng hòu, jiān qì jiē rán. Dì yuē: jiān qì hé wèi? Qí bó yuē: sī zuǒ yòu zhě, shì wèi jiān qì yě. Dì yuē: hé yǐ yì zhī? Qí bó yuē: zhǔ suì zhě jì suì, jiān qì zhě jì bù yě. Dì yuē: shàn. Suì zhǔ nài hé?
Huang Di said: and what of the transformation of the earth? Qi Bo said: it is watched by the same rule as the governing of the heaven, and so it is with every intercalary qi. Huang Di said: what is meant by the intercalary qi? Qi Bo said: the qi that has charge of what stands to the left and the right of it — this is what is called the intercalary qi. Huang Di said: how do they differ? Qi Bo said: what governs the year is counted by the year; the intercalary qi is counted by the step. Huang Di said: good. And what of what governs the year?
